Friday 6th Dec 2019

Dear Members and Friends,

These past few weeks have been very busy for us at the Italian Club. Exciting projects have been completed and we are thrilled to tell you about what's happened and what's coming up.

Firstly, we like to thank all of you who joined us on Saturday 24 August for the Heywire Band event and hope the evening was a memorable one for you.

You may have noticed some major upgrades to the club during these past few months and this is what has been completed:
·         New paving of the driveway in the parking lot
·         Upgrade to the men’s and ladies restrooms, including new disabled facilities
·         New draping in the Hall
·         Replacement of the flooring and safety glass in the children's area by the restaurant
·         Upgrade of the entrance to the hall
·         Current Renovation: Library/schoolroom (off the hall)
This room is being converted into an area where our children will be able to familiarise themselves with the Italian culture, history and language in a fun and creative way.

None of these upgrades would have been possible without your assistance and support. We thank you for that and a special thank you goes to all our loyal members who, year after year, keep their memberships up to date and support our fundraisers. We are committed to improving and maintaining our facilities , so that our club can be your home away from home, where friends and family gather to share a meal or celebrate a special occasion.

With that said, over the past 10 years we have not had an increase in membership fees nor have we raised the hire fees for the many venues offered by the Italian Club. In order for the Italian Club to maintain a safe, neat and a well run environment for our members, we need to continuously upgrade and maintain the club; thus a fee revision was necessary. From the 1st October 2019, there will be an adjustment to all fees. Our website will detail the full list of the new fees. The Club Management Committee welcomes any input from our members regarding upgrading and maintenance or ideas for the use of the spaces that will make our club more vibrant and welcoming.

Our big event for 2019 is the Festa Italiana on 5 & 6 October 2019. Whether you like Italian food, wine, fashion, cars or music, this is the place to be on that weekend. Bring the family and bring the friends, we have a full programme offering exciting festivities aimed at entertaining young and old. Tickets can be purchased online at Webtickets or at the door on the day.
Follow us on Facebook for regular updates and information. Although 95% of our exhibition/vendor space has already been taken up, should any Italian business or retail company wish to showcase their 'Made in Italy' products, we will make a plan to accommodate you. Alternatively, should you not want a stall, your assistance with sponsorships or donations would also be much appreciated. Please note that only Italian owned businesses, Italian made products and Italian artisans are eligible for registration. For information or enquiries please email the Festa Team on This email address is being protected from spambots. Our crowd favourite is back on Saturday, 26 October 2019! Those of you who attended the last one, know that it's a night to remember and you won't want to miss out! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more info and when bookings open.

We are delighted to have a group of volunteers (Women and Men in their 40’s+ age group) that have come together to practice the Tarantella Dance every Saturday at 10am at our Club. If you would like to get involved in the “Dance of Love”, please let us know and we will put you in touch with the organiser. The lessons are free of charge, fun and assists with cultural development of the Club.

We will be starting our basic Italian conversational language lesson course again on Saturday morning’s from 14 September 2019 at 10:30 for more information about these lessons, please see poster below or you can contact Federica Marchesini  on This email address is being protected from spambots.
